In the age of ai and ai catchers, grad students like me are wary of online tools. I decided to try grammarly, and honestly, it was worth it for me for several reasons. Using the ribbon in word was super convenient, and having the panel docked to the right of the document that scrolls.

Using it as a spelling/grammar checker shouldn't count though. Yes, i have used grammarly for a ba (hons) programme that finished in july this year. All grammarly does is assist/guide, i.e., help make it less wordy, which is unacceptable in academic. I have used grammarly throughout uni and it has been totally fine and i haven't been penalised for it!
Usually, 10% of your uni mark will. It catches small errors i might miss, suggests better word choices, and even helps with the overall.
