All grammarly does is assist/guide, i.e., help make it less wordy, which is unacceptable in academic. Usually, 10% of your uni mark will. I decided to try grammarly, and honestly, it was worth it for me for several reasons.

Yes, i have used grammarly for a ba (hons) programme that finished in july this year. I utilize grammarly premium to help check my grammar mistakes and the “clarity function “ that helps provide. Using the ribbon in word was super convenient, and having the panel docked to the right of the document that scrolls. It catches small errors i might miss, suggests better word choices, and even helps with the overall.
Think of it as a spell checker. I think grammarly has some ai writing tools (like actually write for you) would probably count as ai use.
