In a nutshell, rtps is a wire protocol that is often leveraged by dds systems to achieve. I am running two applications that are transmitting and receiving a dds (data distribution service) topic in the same computer. It does not have any centralised control/scheduling.

Are they the same thing? Dds and rtps are not the same thing.
